Happy New Year! Although it was relaxing to be off for Christmas break, I truly missed my 4K Friends and was happy to see their smiling faces on Wednesday. It was a short week but we had lots of fun while learning, as usual.
Chill Out was today. The students enjoyed snuggling up with their blankets and a good book. The 7th and 8th grade students joined us to read. We also watched two stories on the big screen- The Mitten and Sneezy the Snowman. Afterwards, we all had hot chocolate and candy canes. Everyone had lots of fun!
We have a new friend. Braelyn started 4K right before Christmas break. All of the 4K students welcomed her with open arms.

This week, the students...
- Finished their first Handwriting Without Tears Book (I will send these home for you to see after report cards go home). This means, the students have been introduced to all 26 letters and their sounds along with shapes, colors and numbers 1-10. Please use this book to practice these skills as needed.
- We read 2 different gingerbread books; in one the Gingerbread Man got eaten by the fox and in the other, he got away.
The students also practiced... - writing numbers 1-10
- counting groups to 10
Reminders... - dress your child accordingly. We go outside every day unless the weather isn't conducive. Please label your child's snow gear. Teach your child the order of how to get ready to go outside for winter weather: bathroom, snow pants, boots, jacket, mittens and hat.
- Show & Tell will be on Friday. Your child may bring anything (small)
- The last winner of the week for reading the newsletter was…The Maass Family. Thank you to those of you that played the game.I may sneak a game in here or there in future newsletters so keep reading😊
