ALICE training - On Thursday, we had our fourth ALICE training. We practiced what to do if a "wolf" is in the building. We pretended the "wolf" was close to our room and what to do and when the "wolf" is far away. The kids are so good at being quiet and remembering what to do in each scenario.
I have enough parent helpers for out Autumn/Halloween party on Wednesday. I am still looking for someone to send in pumpkin shaped cookies for the kids to decorate. Anyone?
We continued our Autumn/Fall theme this week. We listened to and practiced the the song 5 Little Pumpkins (youtu.be/cm1qvX1ygOo). We acted the story.song out again and worked on coloring a book to take home on Wednesday. Look for it in your child's folder and have him/her read it to you using their reading finger.
I will be testing the students Monday and Tuesday this week using PALS (Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening). Please make sure they get a good night's sleep and eat breakfast. I want them to do their best on the test:)
